SMILE 2025 will be co-organized by ESITH of Morocco through its Center of Excellence in Logistics "CELOG" and Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, which has the chair Transport, Circular Economy and sustainable LOGistics "TEC-LOGd". The main goal of the conference is to provide a stimulating trans-disciplinary deliberation in which actors from multiple scientific fields and practical experiences can exchange and build knowledge, expertise, and thought related to smart management in logistics, transport, and industrial engineering, with special emphasis on the use of emergent technologies and building up entire supply chain smarter.
The conference will be held from in from 17 to 18 April 2025.

SMILE 2025 : Smart Management in Industrial and Logistics Engineering
Logistic systems and supply chains are subject to multiple constraints related to the scarcity of natural resources, population growth, and various socio-environmental crises. They must take into account a joint assessment of economic, social, and ecological dimensions.
The first edition of the international conference SMILE "Smart management in industrial and logistics engineering" will address the topic of sustainable logistics, examining how circular economy principles can be applied to the management of logistic systems and supply chains. Participants will discuss the challenges of transitioning from a linear economic model to a circular one, and analyze how artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchains, and BIGDATA can support this transition.
Logistics plays a crucial role in the transition to a circular economy, but it must be adapted to meet the requirements of circularity. It is necessary to identify the main obstacles to this transition, such as the lack of infrastructure and suitable logistic tools, as well as economic, political, and social barriers.
The conference aims to highlight circular economy models and the necessary means to integrate artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into the management of logistic systems to optimize processes, improve traceability, and enable better decision-making and relevant data analysis for the planning and design of circular logistic networks. Transdisciplinary approaches will be favoured.
To achieve this goal, SMILE aims to bring together policymakers, industrial practitioners, civil society decision-makers, and researchers to develop effective and sustainable solutions for the management of logistic systems.
